I’m starting a new series that i hope you’ll enjoy:

my top 10 favorites movies in different categories.

Today, i begin with my favourite categorie: kid movies (or at least movies i loved when i was a kid).
It was so hard choosing between so many fabulous movies, i had to think about which ones i was the most eager to watch with my son when he’s older.
And now i can’t wait for him to grow up so we can have movie dates!

I wanted to draw a little something to illustrate every movie, can you guess which are which? No peeking!

The Addams Family / Le Roi et l’Oiseau / Holes / The Polar Express / A Little Princess / The Secret Garden / Matilda / Billy Elliot / Hook / Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium

In no particular order, here are the movies i chose with a little quote i love:

« It’s so sweet. He looks just like a little entrée. »
Morticia – to Gomez, watching Pugsley sleep

« This bell is a wonderful symbol of the spirit of Christmas – as am I. Just remember, the true spirit of Christmas lies in your heart. »
Santa Claus

« Il détestait tout le monde, et tout le monde le détestait. »
Le narrateur
//
« He hated everyone and everyone hated him. »
The narrator

« You take a bad boy, make him dig holes all day in the hot sun, it turns him into a good boy. That’s our philosophy here at camp green lake. »
Mr. Sir

« Just because I like ballet doesn’t mean I’m a poof, you know. »
Billy

« I cannot for the life of me understand why small children take so long to grow up. I think they do it deliberately, just to annoy me. »
Agatha Trunchbull

« Is it you? My great and worthy opponent? But it can’t be. Not this pitiful, spineless, pasty, bloated codfish I see before me. You’re not even a shadow of Peter Pan. »
Captain James Hook – to Peter Banning

« My name is Mary Lennox. I was born in India. It was hot, and strange, and lonely in India. I didn’t like it.[…]I was angry, but I never cried. I didn’t know how to cry. »
Mary

« You know, dolls make the very best friends. Just because they can’t speak doesn’t mean they don’t listen. And did you know that when we leave them alone in our room, they come to life? »
Captain Crewe – to Sara

« I fell so completely in love with these shoes, I bought enough pairs to last my whole lifetime. This is my last pair. »
Mr. Edward Magorium

I hope this is making you want to watch all of them if you haven’t already, they’re all very worth your time.

What are your favorite childhood movies?
