The disease of the century: TV show obsession!
I’m so guilty of this. I watch more shows than movies nowadays.
Especially because it’s shorter thus easier to watch when you’re a busy parent whose kids wake up often during the evening or just won’t go to bed until you’re so exhausted that you can’t keep your eyes open for a whole 2 hours…
We loved shows even before having kids but we watched as many shows as we watched movies. TV serie consumption increased the last four years when Adriel was born. He still managed to make us pause a walking dead episode about 12 times, but that’s a story for another day!
I’ve started a serie of illustration posts about my favorite movies in certain categories (like children movie, horror and adaptation). But now I want to dedicate a whole new serie to my top 10 favorite TV shows!
I’ll keep you guessing which one they are and only talk about one show at a time. And more specifically (i needed a challenge!) one particular episode. It’s so hard to pin down your favorite episode of your favorite show, except for some where it’s totally obvious.
Of course I’ll start with Gilmore Girls, because I can’t name my blog Copperboom and not begin there! I had a really hard time choosing which episode was my favorite, I like the show as a whole and I love the dialog in every single episode. I have specific moments that will stay with me forever but picking one whole episode out was difficult!
I chose ‘Those are Strings, Pinocchio’ because the scene where rory gives her Chilton speach always makes my eyes all misty (« not bawling! ») and I like that it brings everyone together and also the fact that we glimpse at Jess again and I’m #teamjess all the way. It’s the end of an Era and makes you want to know what’s gonna happen next.
I can’t not mention my other favorite moments of the show; obviously when lorelai and Luke finally kiss, with kirk running around naked behind.
The Gilmore diner where the camera rolls round and round with everyone going from anger to sadness to hysterical laughter in ‘Friday Night’s Alright for Fighting’. This scene is very long and one of the best of the show in my opinion, it’s also a good change of pace for the actors.
Although i don’t really know why, i enjoyed very much the spring break episode ‘Girls in Bikinis, Boys Doin’ the Twist’ where rory is experiencing some new things in Florida, also getting closer and more intimate to Paris, and contains one of my all time favorite line, from Paris of course:
I’d love to know what’s YOUR favorite GG moment or episode?
