Saoirse Ronan.
Pronounced ‘searsha’.

She didn’t win the best actress Oscar but i’m already so glad she was nominated. She’s working her way through and that makes me happy! Whether she won or not, i had decided to draw her today anyway.

When we were young with my sister, we invented a game to entertain ourselves in long car rides. Some sort of movie game.
And from now on, i’m adding the rules of that game to my Illustration Wednesday to spice things up!

Let me explain: One of us would say the name of an actor or actress, and in turn, the other had to find another actor or actress who had played in a movie with the first mentioned person. Following me so far ? We would then continue again and again until we were stuck or until we’d made a full circle which was very rare but very satisfying, it’s when we would end the game with the name of the person we had started with! The one rule was to never ever say the same person or use the same movie twice.
Here is an example: Matt Damon>Mark Wahlberg>Susan Sarandon>Tim Curry…
In this case the movies are: The Departed, The Lovely Bones and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I’ve made it work today because Saoirse Ronan plays with Stanley Tucci in The Lovely Bones 🙂 (what? me? obsessed with this movie? I don’t know what you’re talking about).

You may have seen her in The Grand Budapest Hotel, or this year in Brooklyn (for which she was nominated for the Oscars). Personally, my Top Saoirse movies are How I live Now, and The Lovely Bones.
